Metacognition as Self Science

 ðŸ§  Metacognition as Self Science

by Ashman Roonz

Your mind is always thinking. Thoughts come and go... judgments, memories, distractions, ideas. Most people follow them blindly, swept along by the noise. But something remarkable happens when you watch your thoughts instead of being them.

This is metacognition: the awareness of your own thinking. Not just reacting, but observing the process itself. You begin to notice the patterns: what triggers you, what loops you repeat (habits and rumination), what beliefs you carry without question. And in that noticing, something shifts.

You become the observer. You gain space. You gain choice.

This is Self Science: Not thinking more, but thinking with awareness; Not trying to control your thoughts, but learning from them.

And the deeper truth? You won’t need to control your thoughts. Your mind will serve what you consistently choose to align with.

Through metacognition, you gather insight. You begin to steer instead of drift. You direct your attention, align it with intention, and reshape your inner world, one thought at a time.
